Manchester United fans hoping to see Carlos Baleba at Old Trafford this season were disappointed when Brighton rejected the club’s bid for the midfielder.
Despite already agreeing to personal terms with the Cameroonian international midfielder, Carlos Baleba United must now look for another player to fill the crucial No. 6 position. Brighton’s stance is firm: they have no intention of selling Baleba this summer and plan to keep him for at least one more season.
The midfielder, who was a key part of the team last season with 40 appearances, four goals, and two assists, joined Brighton in August 2023 from French club Lille for a transfer fee just under £26 million.
While United’s search for a new midfielder continues, the club will rely on Manuel Ugarte, Mason Mount, and Casemiro to take on the No. 6 role.
This news comes on the heels of several major exits from Brighton, including João Pedro, Simon Adingra, Pervis Estupiñán, and Evan Ferguson.
