Everyone will have to wait for few days before they can get the feedback of Crystal Palace participation petition in the UEFA League.
Crystal Palace risk not partaking in the Europa League 2025-2026 season due to UEFA’s rule against dual ownership of teams that will participate in its competition. The Eagles quallified for the competition after defeating Manchester City in the final to win the FA Cup title.
Crystal Palace participation is at risk because of Uefa’s multi-club ownership rules, which prevents teams under the same ownership from competing in the same European competition. However, Co-owner John Textor, who also co-owns French club Lyon, has agreed to sell his 44% stake in Palace in a bid to help their case.
Uefa has therefore decided to wait until the outcome of the appeal before making a decision on Palace’s participation. This was due to Lyon’s demotion to the Ligue 2 due to the poor running of finances at the club.
It is not clear on how long Lyon’s appeal will take, but further details will be announced in “due course”. If Palace spot in the competition is secured, they will enter the group phase which begins in September 2025.
Meanwhile, The draw for the group phase is on August 29, 2025.
