Aston Villa reportedly signs Man United’s key transfer target

Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with one of Man United’s key transfer target in the June 2024 window.

Aston Villa is on the verge of finalizing the acquisition of Everton’s midfielder, Amadou Onana, who’s one of Man United’s key transfer target for an estimated £50 million.

The 22-year-old, who represented Belgium at Euro 2024, is reportedly poised to join a team participating in the 2024/2025 Champions League following Villa’s qualification under the management of Unai Emery.

Onana, who moved from Lille to Everton for £33 million in August 2022, has played 72 matches and scored four goals for the Toffees. While Arsenal had initial talks with Onana’s representatives earlier this year, they did not further pursue their interest further.

The proposed fee from Villa aligns with Everton’s midfielder valuation, which has also attracted interest from Manchester United.

Following the sale of Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42.35 million last month, Aston Villa has been in search for a midfielder replacement.
