Chelsea Football Club has completed the signing of another player – Renato Veiga, ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Renato Veiga joins five other newly signed players, as Chelsea continue in their quest to build a formidable team with there current 6 signing and current players.
Confirming the signing of the Portuguese international via its official website on Friday, July 12, 2024. Renato Veiga signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, including a further one-year option, and will join Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad for pre-season training.
Veiga expressed his delight on the club’s website during his first interview with the Blues.
He said: “I am absolutely buzzing to be here, this is one of the biggest clubs in England the biggest for me and I’m just really excited to get started.”
The 20-year-old made his debut for Sporting B 4 years ago in September 2020, where he spent the next two years to gain experience in the third tier of Portuguese football with the side.
In January 2023, Renato completed a loan move to Bundesliga club Augsburg, where he spent seven months in Germany. Having played 13 times in Bundesliga before earning a move to Basel.
Chelsea supporters will hope the Portuguese international breaks into the team and help them challenge for the Premier League title and other important trophies when season starts.
