English Premier League has released an official statement on Enzo Fernandez’s racism chant against the French national team.
The body also condemned the act by Enzo Fernandez and his Argentine teammates by retweeting the statement released by Chelsea via its official X account. According to the body, the Premier League is not in support of any form of discrimination/ racism against any player, they also confirmed that they reached out to Fernandez’s club, Chelsea concerning the incident which involved their player.
The statement reads; “The Premier League and our clubs are committed to tackling all forms of discrimination. We are in contact with Chelsea Football Club and we will continue to support clubs, players, and staff in taking action against discriminatory abuse. #NoRoomForRacism.”

Fernandez has since apologised to everyone involved concerning the video which was uploaded on Instagram Live via his official account on Monday, July 17, 2024. Chelsea football club also condemned the act off all players in the video, they also acknowledged the apology that the Argentine issued after the video has been circulated on the Internet.
Meanwhile, it is yet to be seen if the Premier League or Chelsea will punish Fernandez and the other Premier League players seen in the video.
