UEFA has imposed a decade-long ban on FK Arsenal Tivat from all its competitions after being found guilty of match-fixing.
The 10 year ban is following an incident that occurred during the Montenegrin club’s FK Arsenal Tivat July 2023 Conference League qualifying match against Alashkert FC.
Union of European Football Associations announced the ban on its official website on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, stating that it followed a thorough investigation by its disciplinary body.
Reason for the Ban
FK Arsenal Tivat’s ban stems from the aforementioned match-fixing scandal. In their Conference League qualifiers, Arsenal Tivat drew 1-1 away before suffering a 6-1 home defeat to the Armenian team.
The european football governing body plans to seek an extension of the ban by FIFA, ensuring it remains in effect until the conclusion of the 2034-35 season. Additionally, Arsenal Tivat’s Nikola Celebic (player) and Ranko Krgovic (official) received lifetime bans from the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB), while two other players were suspended for 10 years.
The Montenegrin First League club was also fined €500,000 (approximately $578,400).
