Police arrest 2 suspected killers of SA Rapper AKA

The two alleged masterminds in the 2023 murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane have finally been brought to justice.

After months of legal wrangling, brothers Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande were extradited from Eswatini, a move South African police describe as a “major breakthrough,” to get justice for the late rapper AKA. Meanwhile, This marks the first time authorities have publicly identified the core suspects in the coordinated assassination that took place on Durban’s Florida Road.

The Ndimande brothers’ return brings the total number of people in South African custody to seven. Police also confirmed the pair are being probed for their alleged involvement in two separate violent cases linked to the KwaZulu-Natal taxi industry.

AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, praised the investigators’ efforts and shared his relief that all key suspects were finally together to stand trial. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is proceeding with a confident case, which involves three dockets and 24 charges, under heavy security due to intense media and public scrutiny.
