Enzo Maresca gives update on Cole Palmer injury

Despite a dominant 5-1 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, Chelsea fans’ celebration was tempered by an injury to Cole Palmer during the warm-up.

Cole Palmer Injury Update

The injury forced manager Enzo Maresca to replace Palmer with Esteavo in the starting lineup. This raised concerns among supporters, as Palmer is the second Chelsea player to be injured recently, following Levi Colwill.

After the match, Maresca addressed the situation, stating, “Cole was not 100% in the last few days. He tried in the warm-up to play, but he was not right. We will see how bad it is. He was already not 100% against Palace but tried to make an effort for the club.”

The Match

The match didn’t start well for Chelsea, as Paqueta put West Ham ahead with a goal in the first five minutes. However, Chelsea quickly responded. Joao Pedro leveled the score in the 15th minute, and the Blues never looked back.

Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernández both scored before halftime, giving Chelsea a 3-1 lead. In the second half, goals from Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah sealed the impressive 5-1 victory.
