West Ham vs Tottenham: Preview, Prediction, Team News, Head-2-Head (h2h), Correct Score Prediction, Formation and Current Form

The Premier League resumes with a fierce London derby at the London Stadium, as West Ham United hosts Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The two teams had very different experiences heading into the September international break. West Ham secured a surprising 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest, while Spurs suffered a lackluster home defeat to Bournemouth, despite a strong start to their season.

The Hammers are still under pressure and will want to continue their winning form, but they will need to improve on their home record, having conceded five goals in their only match at home so far this season against Chelsea. For Spurs, despite their recent loss, their season has started positively with wins against Burnley and Manchester City.

Manager Thomas Frank expects his team, who are favorites for this short trip, to perform much better than they did against Bournemouth.

West Ham Team News

Manager Potter has indicated that Niclas Füllkrug might miss Saturday’s match due to a calf injury he got on international duty. The German forward has “trained lightly” and could still play against Spurs.

Callum Wilson, who scored his first goal for West Ham against Forest, is the most likely player to take Füllkrug’s place. Potter also suggested that new signings Igor Julio and Soungoutou Magassa could make their debuts, with Magassa potentially starting.

In other news, Łukasz Fabiański has rejoined West Ham on a new contract after being released at the end of last season.

Tottenham will be missing four players for the match at London Stadium: Yves Bissouma, Radu Drăgușin, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison are all out with injuries. Additionally, young Japanese defender Kota Takai is a major doubt due to a foot problem.

For Spurs, Dominic Solanke could make his return after the international break, having missed the previous game against his former club Bournemouth. While the team is unlikely to change much from the one that lost to the Cherries, they might give debuts to late-window signings Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani.

Finally, Mohammed Kudus is set to face a hostile reception from West Ham fans following his summer move to Spurs.

West Ham vs Tottenham Correct Score Prediction

West Ham was likely relieved to get their first points of the season before the international break. However, a late burst of goals at the City Ground can’t hide their overall struggles. While the win will boost confidence for their match against Tottenham, they are still considered significant underdogs.

Tottenham has drawn on their last two trips to the London Stadium and might still draw this one despite West Ham defense has already given up 11 goals this season. Spurs’ high-pressing style should create major problems for the home team, and their attacking talent is well-equipped to capitalize on those opportunities.

Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
