Liverpool football club player, Diogo Jota dies in a car crash, a terrible accident that also took the life of his brother.

Daily Mail UK and Portuguese media houses reported that the Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota dies in a car accident at the age of 28. Th tragic event happened in Spain as Jota was in a vehicle with his 26-year-old brother André, who also plays professional football, when the car veered off the road.

The crash reportedly took place on the A-52 highway in the Zamora region. This heartbreaking development comes just two weeks after Jota officially married his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, in Porto.

Fans were left heartbroken as the confirmation came from the premier League champions in their latest official statement on the passing of the young footballer.

The statement read, “Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.

Liverpool FC will be making no further comment at this time and request the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss. We will continue to provide them with our full support.”
