Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal’s Captain for 2025/26 season

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Martin Ødegaard will remain the team’s captain for the 2025/26 season.

Speaking at his first pre-match press conference ahead of the season opener against Manchester United, Mikel Arteta revealed that the decision was unanimous among the players.

“Everybody chose the same person, which was Martin Ødegaard, which is the most clear sign that you can have,” he stated.

Ødegaard, who has served as captain for the past two seasons, hopes to lead the team to a Premier League title after three consecutive second-place finishes.

What did Arteta said concerning Arsenal winning the league?

Arteta addressed the team’s title hopes, saying, “You keep digging… because one day the gold is going to be there. For three seasons we’ve had more points than any other team in this league, which is incredible. That’s all about the consistency.”

Arsenal will kick off their season at Old Trafford, aiming for a win or, at the very least, to avoid a loss.
