Brentford vs Chelsea: Preview, Prediction, Team News, Head-2-Head (h2h), Correct Score Prediction, Formation and Current Form

Chelsea is set to face its fourth straight London rival to kick off the 2025–26 Premier League season. This time, Enzo Maresca’s team will make a short trip to Brentford on Saturday night. Fresh off their summer Club World Cup victory, the Blues are still undefeated this season and are aiming for their third consecutive win.

After a draw against Crystal Palace on the first weekend, Chelsea has since defeated West Ham 5–1 and Fulham 2–0, despite a poor first half in the latter match. Encouragingly, their wins have come without their key player, Cole Palmer, who is recovering from a groin injury.

Brentford, led by Keith Andrews, hopes to face a Chelsea side still missing Palmer as they look to recover from a defeat at Sunderland before the international break. While many predicted Brentford would struggle after their summer departures, Andrews has already secured his first Premier League win since taking over from Thomas Frank.

The Bees narrowly defeated a scoreless Aston Villa in Gameweek 2.

Brentford Team News

Brentford has received a boost ahead of Chelsea’s visit, as midfielder Vitaly Janelt is available again after being sidelined since April with a heel injury. Defender Michael Kayode, who fell ill on international duty with Italy’s Under-21s, is also fit for Saturday’s match.

While Paris Maghoma and Gustavo Gomes are still out, manager Andrews confirmed that deadline-day signing Reiss Nelson will play a role.

Manager Maresca will decide on Cole Palmer’s status after Friday’s training. Even if Palmer is fit, he might not start, as Chelsea has a Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

In other injury news, Liam Delap could be out until December with a hamstring issue, and Levi Colwill remains a long-term absentee. Andrey Santos, João Pedro, and Estêvão all returned late from international duty.

However, Chelsea’s injury issues might force Santos and Pedro into the starting lineup. The team also has new injuries, with summer signing Dário Essugo and midfielder Roméo Lavia both unlikely to play this weekend.

Brentford vs Chelsea Correct Score Prediction

There is no doubt about Chelsea’s talent, but we’re going to focus on the effect of the international break. Several key players on Maresca’s injury-plagued squad traveled long distances to and from South America, meaning the visitors’ preparation hasn’t been ideal.

Brentford, meanwhile, lost key players over the summer, but the early signs, despite losing twice, suggest they will remain a strong and capable Premier League team, capable of trying there very best.

It will turn out to be a fierced game between both sides but at the end of the day, Chelsea will likely get a win.

Prediction: Brentford 0-1 Chelsea
