Legbegbe crooner Mr Real regrets featuring Idowest

Nigerian singer Mr Real has expressed strong regret over his breakout hit “Legbegbe,” specifically the decision to feature fellow artist Idowest.

In a recent interview, Mr Real claimed that releasing the 2017 track as a solo effort would have launched his career to the level of global stars like Wizkid and Burna Boy. He stated, “I regret bringing Idowest into that song. I wish it was only me on it. If it was just me, I would be standing where Burna Boy and Wizkid are today.”

The singer also revealed a massive setback: a planned remix with Wizkid never materialized. Mr Real blamed “industry complications” allegedly linked to veteran artist D’banj for derailing the collaboration, which he believes would have given the street anthem global reach.

This latest claim follows Mr Real’s previous accusations that D’banj exploited him during their two-year working relationship, which the singer says only netted him $500. While “Legbegbe” successfully put Mr Real in the spotlight, he maintains that key decisions prevented him from fully capitalizing on its success.
