Afrobeats has evolved to Big 7 – Odumodublvck

Afrobeats’ global success story is bigger than its three biggest names, according to Odumodublvck, who has rebranded the genre’s dominant players as the “Big 7.”

Moving past the long-held “Big 3” designation for Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck recently made a case for a larger roster that includes street legend Olamide and a trio of current global chart-toppers: Tems, Rema, and Asake.

How did Tems, Rema, and Asake join the Big 7?

The rapper’s argument acknowledges that the genre’s international reach is now collectively driven by these seven artists. He highlights the indisputable influence of the new wave, noting Tems’ Grammy-winning collaborations, Rema’s international streaming dominance with “Calm Down,” and Asake’s powerful local and global chart presence.
